Heather’s Heroes Supports Bridge to Bridge Highland Cycle 2026

10 Oct 2026

Heather’s Heroes has continued its support of the Bridge to Bridge Highland Cycle, donating match funding of £20,000 and entering a team of 34 riders in this year’s event.

Now in its fifth year, Bridge to Bridge is a 77 mile charity cycle from the Skye Bridge to the Kessock Bridge. Run entirely by volunteers, the event raises vital funds for local causes, with 100% of the money raised going directly to its nominated charities. This year’s main beneficiaries are Highland Action for Little Ones (HALO), Aban Outdoors and This is Me Highland.

Alongside this year’s donation, the charity entered its biggest team yet, with 34 cyclists taking on the route, including Heather’s Heroes trustees Allan Dallas, John Valentine and Ryan Magennis. Team members also raised additional funds through their own sponsorship.

Support extended beyond the cycle itself, with Heather’s Heroes providing goody bags, vehicles and volunteers to help the Bridge to Bridge team deliver the event.

Ahead of this year’s event, Bridge to Bridge had already raised £376,000 for charities across the Highlands. Donations from this year’s cycle are still coming in, with organisers hoping to announce the final fundraising total shortly.

William Gray, Bridge to Bridge event organiser, said:

“We’re incredibly grateful for the continued support of Heather’s Heroes. Their £20,000 donation will make a massive difference to our nominated charities, while the wider support they provide – both this year and in previous years – has been a huge help in making the event possible.

“To have 34 Heather’s Heroes riders taking on the route this year was also fantastic. We really value the partnership we’ve built and hope to continue working together, and welcoming the team back, for many years to come.”

John Valentine, Trustee of Heather’s Heroes, said:

“We’re delighted to support such a fantastic event. Our team really enjoyed taking part – there was a brilliant atmosphere throughout the day, with everyone coming together to raise as much as possible for some great local charities.

The mission of Heather’s Heroes is to provide support to people who need it within our communities. Bridge to Bridge is a brilliant example of what can be achieved when a community comes together to do something special for local causes, and we’re proud to play a part in it.”
