Heather’s Heroes Highland Games & Ceilidh 2026

10 Oct 2026

The Northern Meeting Park in Inverness was transformed into a celebration of Scottish tradition, community spirit and fundraising success on Saturday the 19th of September, as colleagues, families and members of the local community came together for the inaugural Heather’s Heroes Highland Games & Ceilidh.

The event delivered a packed programme of entertainment and friendly competition throughout the day, with visitors taking part in a range of traditional Highland Games activities including caber tossing, welly wanging, tug of war and hay toss competitions. Alongside the sporting challenges, attendees enjoyed craft stalls, inflatables, a raffle and a variety of family-friendly attractions, creating a vibrant atmosphere for all ages.

As the day drew to a close, the celebrations continued with a lively ceilidh, bringing together guests for an evening of traditional Scottish music, dancing and community spirit.

Heather’s Heroes is delighted to announce that the event has raised more than £6,000, an incredible achievement for the first Highland Games & Ceilidh. The funds raised will help the charity continue its work supporting local charities and community organisations, making a positive difference in the communities where people live and work.

The success of the event would not have been possible without the dedication of the Heather’s Heroes team, whose hard work and commitment helped bring the day to life. Thanks also go to the many suppliers, sponsors, stallholders and volunteers who generously contributed their time and support.

A special thank you is extended to High Life Highland for its fantastic support and for helping to bring the Highland Games to Northern Meeting Park.

Most importantly, thank you to everyone who attended, took part and helped make the event such a memorable occasion. The enthusiasm, generosity and community spirit shown throughout the day played a huge part in creating a successful event and raising vital funds for local good causes.
