Fundraising Milestone Reached at Abbie’s Sparkle Ball

15 Mar 2026

On Saturday 31st January, the Heather’s Heroes team attended the Abbie’s Sparkle Ball, held at the Kingsmills Hotel in Inverness, in support of the inspirational Abbie’s Sparkle Foundation.

Around 200 people attended the glittering evening, many wearing sparkles in tribute to Abbie Main, who tragically passed away from cancer on Christmas Day 2017, aged just 15. Guests danced the night away, enjoying entertainment, games and fundraising activities, helping to raise an impressive £25,000 on the night. The funds will support Abbie’s Sparkle Foundation’s work in providing treats, family holidays and vital support for children and their families living with cancer across Scotland.

Inspired by Abbie’s positivity, Abbie’s Sparkle Foundation was established in 2018 to support the physical and mental health of children with cancer across Scotland. This includes providing gifts and treats, as well as offering families the chance to make lasting memories at Abbie’s Sparkle Lodge. The work of the charity helps to bring sparkle into people’s lives and support families who are going through the most difficult of circumstances, physically, emotionally and financially.

Heather’s Heroes proudly supported the Abbie’s Sparkle Ball event by sponsoring the evening’s entertainment, with band Diamond Skies providing live music for the celebration.

During the evening, it was announced that the foundation was just £2,500 short of reaching the incredible milestone of £1 million raised since its launch. Heather’s Heroes was honoured to donate the final £2,500, helping the charity reach this landmark total and celebrating the achievement alongside Abbie’s friends and family on the night.

Christine Whitton, Abbie’s Sparkle Foundation Fundraising Coordinator, commented on the support from Heather’s Heroes:

“We are just getting over a momentous evening and are delighted that Abbie’s Sparkle Foundation was able to reach the £1 million milestone in front of so many of her sparkle supporters, thanks to your generous donation.

It is especially meaningful to be supported by Heather’s legacy and reach the £1 million fundraised because of her story and the work Heather’s Heroes does in her honour”.

Allan Dallas, Heather’s Heroes Trustee, added:

“We all had an amazing time at Abbie’s Sparkle Ball and celebrating a charity which does great work in providing happiness, fun and essential support to children battling a cancer diagnosis.

Heather’s Heroes is so proud to champion the cause and help to reach the £1 million fundraising mark, an incredible achievement which will have a significant impact”.

Heather’s Heroes would like to thank everyone who attended and supported the Abbie’s Sparkle Ball, helping to keep Abbie’s legacy alive and continuing to make a meaningful difference to the lives of children living with cancer.
